Partner up with Jesus Christ! Go Team

“We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.” (Rom 8:28)

Have you discovered YOUR purpose? Maybe your purpose is to be a caring doctor or nurse. It could be to guide people in financial planning. Maybe your purpose is to teach. Whatever your purpose is, as mature Christians, we are called according to HIS purpose. When we work within God’s plan, our own lives become more fulfilled, happier.

We, adult Christians, cannot go to church on Sunday, say our prayers before we go to sleep, and believe that we are truly living the Christian life! Did you know that every baptized person has a responsibility to share the faith? You have a responsibility to spread the Good News that is Jesus Christ. The other good news is that we don’t have to do it alone!

When you live in the moment, when you know your value and have accepted HIS purpose for your life, there’s still one thing that you need to live your happiest life – a Partner! And I’m not talking about a boyfriend or girlfriend, or even a spouse. I’m talking about an eternal Partner!

Can you imagine joining forces with the God of the universe? What does it look like to team up with Jesus Christ? When we step out in holy boldness to collaborate with God, we unlock our own happiness. That is what God desires. God wants to partner with us, and God wants us to be happy! Time and time again, God calls the unlikely to help Him in His work of salvation.

Adam was a blamer.

Abraham let other men walk off with his wife --- twice.

Sarah encouraged her husband to sleep with another woman – and then hated her for it!

Rebekah was a manipulator.

Jacob was a liar.

Moses was an excuse maker, and he didn’t always follow directions – and he had a very bad temper.

David was an adulterer… and a murderer.

I could go on!!

God wants partners – and we – flawed human beings are who He chooses! God doesn’t give up on our weaknesses!

God said to Moses, “I have come down to rescue my people.” (Ex 3:8) Moses and Aaron and Miriam and Jochebed, the Hebrew midwives, and Joshua, and countless others had to collaborate with God to get the job done. They stepped out in holy boldness!

Consider the miraculous event when Jesus fed a multitude with 5 loaves and 2 fish. He could have snapped his fingers and produced the food – but, Jesus wants partners! First, he asks his disciples to help out with the problem.  Matthew tells us that the disciples encouraged Jesus to send the people away, but Jesus said, “There is no need for them to go away, give them some food yourselves.” Jesus wants partners!

The disciples search among the crowd and find a boy who has 5 barley loaves and 2 fish. The boy was willing to share. Jesus wants partners!

After Jesus took the bread, he blessed it, broke it and gave it to his disciples. Then he commanded the disciples to distribute the food. Jesus wants partners!

How is God asking you to partner with Him?

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (Eph 2:10)

The masterpiece that we are is not so that we can showoff and boast or walk the red-carpet like a movie star! Quite the contrary – God made us like we are – each of us unique, beautiful, amazing – so that we might do the good things he planned for us long ago! Each of us has a God-given purpose. The best way – dare I say the ONLY way – to accomplish our God-given purpose, it to partner up with Jesus Christ. Go Team!
